Walking Water
In this experiment the paper towel is like a little bridge. the water climbs up the paper towel - just like little feet walking! The water keeps walking until it reaches the empty cup.
Dancing Raisins
The children made predictions on what they thought would happen when you drop some raisins into still/tap water. E.g. the water will change colour, the raisins will float.
Our results: The raisins sank to the bottom.
Next, the children predicted what would happen when we dropped raisins into a cup of fizzy/sparkling water. Some suggested that the raisins would explode.
Here are some photos of the children observing what happens and a short video of our results.
Rainbow Skittles
The children arranged the skittles in a circle around the edge of a plate. Warm water was poured over the skittles and the children watched closely to see what happens.
